This is the first blog post of this semester's afternoon sections of "Writing for the Arts."
During Thursday's class we're going to march through the syllabus. Today we're going to talk, think, write, and share ideas about the connection between:
ART/DESIGN =================WRITING
Your assignment for Thursday's class is very straightforward:
1) Write a one-paragraph summary of Daniel Kunitz's essay, "Texting: The Artist as Writer as Artist" (2011) Shoot for around 100 words. Try to answer the question: What precisely is "The Blur" that Kunitz refers to?
2) Write three potential discussion questions based on your reading of Kunitz's essay. Avoid questions that can be answered yes or no. Try to write questions that could be answered in many different ways. This part of the assignment is trickier than the summary.
Type and proofread this document before printing it. Bring it with you to class on Thursday.
This is a required and ungraded assignment.
