For the duration of this class (75 minutes) use of the above-listed devices will be prohibited. This is our default position. On certain occasions, use of these devices will be permitted. I will let you know when that's the case. So... get used to writing your notes in a notebook with pen or pencil. In case of a true emergency, you can leave class to read/send a text or to make a phone call.
If I see you texting under the table, I'll ask you to leave the classroom and to meet with me at the conclusion of class in my office. Simple.
